Reaching out for support isn’t always easy, especially with someone who begins as a stranger. However, therapy offers something rare and powerful, an objective space where you can be fully seen and heard, free from judgment or fear that your vulnerability will be used against you.
Hello, I’m Dr. Grissel Lloyd, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Life brings challenges, transitions, and internal roadblocks that can feel overwhelming, even when we’ve worked hard and done our best. In our work together, we’ll explore the thought patterns, behavioral habits, and subconscious narratives that may be holding you back. It is my job to meet you where you are and move forward together with you owning the power to rewrite your life’s story. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and deeply personalized, because your journey is your own, and you deserve to lead it with clarity and intention.
My areas of focus include anxiety, OCD, specific phobias, stress management, and women’s mental health, particularly the emotional and psychological impact of hormonal changes, including menopause. With a strong foundation in relational and behavioral work, I also specialize in helping individuals navigate breakups, shifting dynamics, and patterns that disrupt connection and growth. These moments of pain or uncertainty can become powerful turning points, and I am here to help you move through them with support and purpose.
With more than 20 years in behavioral health, I bring a diverse clinical background to my work. I have served as a board-certified behavior analyst, a licensed mental health counselor, and now as a licensed clinical psychologist. I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across community settings, schools, the Department of Corrections, inpatient psychiatric facilities, clinics, and private practice. What I’ve learned is that we are all doing the best we can with the resources we have. What do you do when that does not seem to be enough, or things didn’t work out as you had hoped? Sometimes, we need a new kind of help to move forward.
I’m originally from the Caribbean, though I consider myself a citizen of the world. I love to travel, explore different cultures, and experiment with new recipes. On a typical day, you’ll find me with friends and family, practicing Spanish, or relaxing with a good sci-fi or fantasy show.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’m here to walk with you. Let’s begin.
