Hello! I am Dr. Grissel Lloyd, and I am so pleased to have the opportunity to introduce myself and my treatment approach. It can be difficult to reach out for assistance, especially with someone who essentially is a stranger. However, therapy can provide you with a completely objective space where YOU can be seen and heard, unencumbered by fear of judgment or of your vulnerability being used against you.
All of us will encounter numerous obstacles and challenges along our journey in this adventure that is life. Sometimes, despite previous experiences and present resources, it becomes overwhelming. Together we can explore and modify your thought habits, behavioral patterns, and subconscious roadblocks that are currently preventing you from making that change you desire or moving towards living your best life. It is important to me that therapy is a truly collaborative process because your journey is uniquely yours. It is my job to meet you where you are and move forward together with you owning the power to rewrite your life’s story.
In the over 18 years of working in behavioral health as a board certified behavior analyst, a licensed mental health counselor, and now as a licensed clinical psychologist, I have had the privilege of collaborating with children, adolescents, adults, and parents in a variety of settings and in various stages of constructing their own narrative. Whether in the community, in the school system, department of corrections, mental hospital, or in private practice, what I have found is that we are all attempting to use what we see as our best resources to navigate and improve our world or the world of those that we care about. What do you do when that does not seem to be enough, or things didn’t work out as you had hoped? Please feel free to reach out to me using the contact information below.
I am an island girl by birth, but I fancy myself a creature of the world and love to travel and experience different cultures and food. On any given day, you can find me spending time with friends and family, teaching myself Spanish, trying out a new recipe, or indulging in an afternoon of Netflix.
